The Dead were pretty much an american phenomenon, they never made it that big in Europe, although they were somewhat successful in England, and I don't think there are a lot of Japanese or Korean Deadheads....LOL. In 1981, they ended up playing at the Melkweg Multi-medium Centrum (aka Hashbar)in Amsterdam after they had to cancel a large venue in France because of low ticket sales. Of course those turned out to be the highlight of The European tour, (They played on borrowed instruments) and included an accoustic set on Bobby's birthday as well as a couple of other treats (Gloria, the 1st post Pigpen Lovelight and Hully Gully) in the second set of that show.
